July 17, 2006 Dick Beardsley Fishing Report
|
The hot weather continues and surface
water temps. are now approaching 80 degrees. Walleye fishing has
actually picked up this past week a little. Detroit Lake has a bite
going for walleyes in the weeds and the shallow water rocks. Windy days
are the best. Franklin Lake has been kicking out some walleyes for folks
pulling crankbaits. Big Cormorant, Island, Shell, Ice Cracking, and
Elbow are also kicking out a few fish on Lindy Rigs and crawlers. The
bigger panfish are out in the deepwater weedlines and the bass fishing
remains good with bigger fish on the sharp breaks hitting jigs and tubes
or plastic worms. The muskie bite is starting to pickup a bit on Big Detroit and Pelican. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come! Have a great day on the water! |
