Fishing · Dick Beardsley fishing Reports - August 21, 2006

With shorter days, cooler nights, and water temps. the fishing has started to pickup here in the area.Walleyes are starting to bite more on minnows now and when that begins to happen you fall is right around the corner. Pelican, Lizzie, Big Cormorant, Lida, Big Toad, Cotton, Big Detroit, and Melissa are all starting to kickout a few walleyes along the steep breaks and weedlines on jigs and minnows. Crappies and bluegills continue biting along the deep weeds on small Lindy Little Nipper Jigs and plastic munchies. The bass bite continues excellent and smallies are going on Big Cormorant and Lida. Northern Pike fishing continues good on area lakes. The nice thing about pike fishing right now is that they are hitting about anyting along the weedlines. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come!
