Dick Beardsley Fishing Report

The walleye bite continues a little sporadic here in
the Detroit Lakes area. Over Memorial Day weekend we
had very hot and very windy conditions. The wind kept
many anglers from getting out on the lakes. Lindy rigs
and leeches or shinners have been working well as have
Max Gap Jigs and shinners. Big Cormorant, Lida,
Crystal, Pelican, Big Floyd, Island, Lizzie are a few
of the lakes with the bite going at times. The
Bluegills are up in the shallows and are really on the
bite! Lindy Little Nipper Jigs and small Thump'n Grub
tubes have been working great in 2-4 ft. of water. The
bass season kicked off over the past weekend and bass
were hitting everyting from topwater to plastic worms
fishing the deeper breaks. Its a great time to be on
the water! Please remember to practice selective
harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great
fishing for year to come!
Have a great day on the water!
