Dick Beardsley Fishing Report

Hard to believe we are almost to July already! The
fishing has been very good here in the Detroit Lakes
area! Walleyes are not exactly jumping in the boat,
but if you have some patience and are willing to worka bit, they are there to be taken. Lindy Fuzzy Grubs and leeches are working well. Most walleyes are being caught along the sharp breaks and deep weedlines. Big Cormorant, Lida, Crystal, Detroit, Melissa, Height of Land, Big Toad, Elbow, and Pelican are all kicking out some fish. Crappies are going good on area lakes once you find them! The deep cabbage on area lakes are holding big crappies! Small jigs and plastics are working well. The biggest bluegills are not coming out from the deepwater weedlines. Bass fishing remains excellent! Jigs and tubes or plastic worms are working well along the deep humps and weedlines and also working the docks. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come! Have a great day on the water!
