Habitat and Distribution
Muskellunge can be found as far north James Bay and Hudson Bay drainages in northern Canada, across the northern US from Wisconsin to the Middle Atlantic States south into Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and in much of northern Mississippi drainage. Muskies live in rivers, streams and lakes. They prefer cold water but can tolerate temperatures up to 70 F.
